A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Senior Safety Consultant to join an independent consultancy leading the field in the provision of consulting services and technical recruitment to the defence, transportation, marine and energy sectors globally.
From offices in UK, Netherlands, France and Libya, our client’s flexible approach allows them to deliver the highest quality services to major international corporations, government bodies and small to medium-sized enterprises alike.
As Senior Nuclear Safety Consultant, you will be responsible for the preparation and review of Safety Cases for Nuclear Submarine Power Plant (all classes) and for decommissioning civil nuclear power stations. You will also be responsible for the Independent Technical Assessment / Independent Peer Review of designs and substantiations in support of nuclear facilities. Moreover, you will lead HAZOP/HAZID meetings, take on responsibility for business development, carry out reliability and availability assessments of nuclear systems/plant and carry out the hazard analysis of nuclear plant/facilities.
Qualified to degree level or equivalent, you will have experience of Safety Case Support/Writing within the nuclear industry.
Ideally, you will also have experience of Hazard identification (HAZOP, HAZID. FMEA), radiological consequence analysis, probabilistic safety assessment (PSA) and risk assessment. Experience of cost benefit analysis (CBA) and ALARP studies would also be advantageous.
Moreover, it would be beneficial to have experience of Peer Review/Independent Nuclear Safety Assessment (INSA) and Reliability, availability and maintainability (RAM) studies. Experience of safety management systems and safety culture as well as accident and incident investigation would also be advantageous.
